I use a thread stand which I then place to the right and slightly behind my Babylock Ellageo. The stand doesn't get in the way when I'm machine quilting.

The deelybobs set on the upright spindle of the machine, which on mine is optional. When in use it is placed on the bobbin winder. What a stupid place to put it, because you have to take it off to wind a bobbin. So I still need the cone stand when I wind the bobbins.

The only problem I have with the cone thread stand is my cat catches the thread on her tail and strings the thread around the room so I have to make sure she can't walk between the machine and the stand.

While I'm sewing she sleeps in a basket to the right and back behind the machine and thread stand.
