I am in the pile of quilters that like every step of the craft...until I get a designated quilting room, I have to set up my larger mat on the dining room table or kitchen counter therefore, I usually cut the entire project so that I can clear my stuff when finished. I have a small rotating mat that I leave on my ironing space in case I need to cut small pieces.
