Painter's tape tip
This tip was on Pinterest this morning and I would do the link but it has already disappeared. Using painter's tape to prevent the machine from eating points. I have used the scrap fabric under the feed dogs but I must say, this works well. I sewed 2 points through with no trouble even with just a single layer of fabric. Yes, you can get the single hole plate for your machine but I am afraid to use one in case I pull the fabric a bit and the needle strikes the side of the single hole.
