Since this is for a quilting or sewing group I would think something for their sewing room or area would be good. One of the items I have that I like most is a pin cushion for machine needles. It is marked with needle sizes and types, such as 'topstitch', 'universal', etc. I like it because, like all of us, I change needles frequently. I use a special pin to stick in the place for the needle in the machine. Most any size and shape pin cushions could be used. Good luck with your project.
