mjp, not only is that back end pin not ness, I think it is actually easier w/o it. The whole piece lays flatter and easier in my opinion to guide and ease through w/o the accidental pucker. I know other sites that tell how to sew curved pieces say to lengthen the stitch length, but I actually find it easier to control and not get "out of curve" to shorten it.
