I use one of those hanging cosmetic bags. Mine is about 2' long and has zipper compartments with plastic fronts. I can put the scissors, thread, bobbins, small rulers, pins, rotary cutters, .... I have had it about 16 years and it is still going strong. I keep it loaded so I can grab and go. I recently bought a folding ruler and folding cutting mat so I can use one of my totes.
