This is a layout I did in EQ7.
8 inch blocks
1 block is solid fabric 8 x 8 in (cut 8-1/2 x 8-1/2 in)
1 block made up of 2 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 in blocks (cut 4 x 4 in), 1 8 x 1 in rectangle (cut 8-1/2 x 1-1/2 in), 1 3-1/2 x 1 in (cut 4 x 1-1/2 in) rectangle
All the blocks sashed by a 1 in (cut 1-1/2 in) sashing.
Size of blocks can be larger or smaller depending on your fabrics.
