I bought the Pfaff Performance 5.0 in Feb. this year and I love it. I bought a Select 3 a few years ago and then bought an Ambition 1.0. I traded the Ambition in on the Performance 5.0 and kept the Select 3 as my backup, basically because the feet on the Select 3 and Performance 5.0 are interchangeable. I love the bigger throat space and features that I thought I would never use. There is a Youtube video done by Village Sewing Center that will take you through all the features of this machine; it's about 50 minutes long so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy. It made my decision for me.
So glad you mentioned the Village Sewing Center. I watched it today. Made me sure my decision to buy the Performance 5.0 is right. I'm buying the floor model (the only one left) from a dealer I've dealt with for many years. No instructions, but they'd be available if needed. I think the video pretty much explained everything.
