The green did give me nightmares !
i had the purple one done in early October, then started pulling greens- for 2 months I had my cutting table stacked with greens- I couldn't do anything with. I would sort them, arrange them, toss some, pull others, search more...browse books for a different pattern, try to find some way to use those greens... stress over that quilt. Couldn't give one quilt without the other....finally on December 17 th, with one week left and still not a single fabric cut, no plan, I turned to my husband for help.
He entered my sewing room, looked at that mess of greens & started lining them up, tossing/ purging, replacing, ( griping at me every step of the way) when he had the twelve braid run fabrics in order we decided on the center squares and he left my room.
I was still ( horribly unsure) but cut the fabrics. Laid out one braid, snapped a picture of it & showed it to hubby- just not sure it was really ok... he said YES. Then I was on a roll. We didn't discuss the separators, once I had the braids together I auditioned and came up with what I felt pulled it together. Had the top together by dinner time that day. Loaded it up and quilted it on Sunday, made binding, machine stitched first side Monday, finished hand stitching at work Wednesday night, laundered Thursday, wrapped Friday, gifted Saturday ( Christmas Eve) whew, what a week! I still was so unsure about it, but everyone who saw it at work loved it....and the niece who's favorite color is a Bright green loves it so....
