I'm no expert, but have found a way to work with spray baste that works for me. I kept a long tube from a package of poly batting from JAF. When I'm ready to sandwich a large project, I lay the back down on my long table, fit the batting over it like normal. Now I peel down a portion of it & spray baste it, working my way down. Once that's done, I can roll the quilt top onto the cardboard tube, spray a portion of the batting, position the top & smooth it down, spray a little more, unroll a little more top to cover & so forth until I'm done. I use the June Taylor basting spray & I love it!! There isn't a lot of stink, so I can do it inside or out! I'm owned by a cockatoo, so I have to be careful of smells around him, but this doesn't seem to affect him at all! I hope this helps!
