The hubs started to put a "coop" together with out telling me. He didn't think I would object. I told him it looked like a chicken coop and if he was planning on doing something like that to me as a surprise, he would end up with the chickens he bought being defeathered and butchered by the time he got home after work. That was the only way we were going to have any chickens. I was busy enough for over 20 years taking care of dogs without having to take care of chickens. I spent almost 2 weeks on my uncle's farm with a large hen house I learned to tend and gather eggs. I also learned to slaughter and prep for a meal. He ended up selling the equipment to someone who cared.
