Always wash. I need to know if any problems are going to occur with fabrics, batting or thread. Once I washed a quilt and it puckered like you wouldn't believe. I have never had one since that wrinkled that bad. Don't know what it was. But my friend loved it. I told her I was experimenting with a new concept in quilting. Worked for her. It was soft and poufy in her eyes.
