Thank all of you for your input. Whee, there may be a way around the ribbing problem after all. And all of the great suggestions. You will be proud of me - I just dissected one of Gramps' "holy (holie?)" t-shirts and got the "test" bib neckband in. With your list of ribbing source possibilities G's t-shirt collection may not be raided too much.
If anyone is interested, the idea for the plastic sleeves came from bibs the Princess' father had. Cut down on "spaghetti arms" and other stains a bunch. I'll probably take a shot at one and see which way things work. Obviously, I do a lot of test runs when I am tinkering with ideas. And the tests get archived and the archives are beginning to take too much room. More ideas??????
