I tried my friends but my machine didn't like it. I have had better luck by saving the smaller spools of thread and pushing them up inside of the cone. That way they sit on your spindle and feed the same way as a smaller spool. I save empty ones to use in my cones but also have used spoolls that still had thread on them. Just make sure that the small spool is firm and tight inside of the cone. Hope this works for you. Cuppi
