Thank you, Quiltingcandy for your response, I really appreciate it! One of these days I need to just take a pic and try to post it. Some people think I'm crazy doing the hexies hand pieced and others say it's a lot of patience and that it's beautiful. I admire your making a king hexie quilt, and continuing on to make more hexies! Apparently, it is your therapy and happy place like me! Don't give up and keep going even though you said it has been 17 years since you finished the quilt. Yes, I love taking the hexies with me - take them with me everywhere as you never know. Sitting in a waiting room or waiting in the car or whatever, it's great to have them with you. The tutorial with Sue Daly was nothing like I expected or what I'm doing. I use plastic templates from Pati Shambaugh who patented the original quiltpatis. They are so perfect to use and she is very helpful if you call her; here's her webiste to browse at if you're interested:
