I have made lots of quilts over the years. I do not pre-wash. I use color catchers anytime I wash a quilt and I have never had a problem. Color catchers most often come out colored in some way. So far, so good!
A very good plan and great that it is working for you.
Howeverrrrrrr ..... what happens when some day you forget to put in a Colour Catcher?
Or that someone else does the laundry?
That's why I prefer to deal with it all, upfront, before I start to sew.
