I just finished a challenge quilt for my guild which was a modern strip quilt depicting a "bar code" so everything had to be straight line....I set it aside because I think I'm going to have to press out some of the "bunches" I made. If you have a ruler foot and a straight ruler designed for use with the ruler foot you could FMQ all those straight lines pretty quickly and they will end up being just as straight as if you'd used the walking foot. I find it's much easier to avoid tucks where lines cross when FMQing my straight lines with a ruler. I now do all straight line quilting, even stitch in the ditch work FMQ using a ruler foot and ruler-- it's saved me a lot of time and eliminated any problems with tucks where lines cross.
