Since the CFL's are giving yellowish light, you might not notice the difference if you go to a lesser-wattage LED. The whiter light often seems brighter, even when it is a slightly lower watt equivalent. If you can find ones that fit the fixture, I would buy them; you can always return them if they turn out to be too dim.
