I use finger lights for both hand and machine sewing. They are tiny lights that have elastic bands to wear on your finger. Very inexpensive. I got a whole box of 40 for about $15 at Amazon. Just make sure you get the kind that beam the white light and not the ones that beam blue red or green lights.
