I have had one of these(
http://www.quiltersreview.com/iron-cord-holder) for eons and find it reallly useful. But I never threaded the cord through the loop. Instead, I placed it in the coil "clip" at the top, leaving me enough slack to reach all areas of the board. The wand or stem is spring-loaded so it flexes when I need to get to the end of the ironing board then pulls the cord back when the tension is released by moving the iron back to the center of the board. Keeps me from fighting the entire cord. Didn't know they still made them.
OK- wound up with 2 posts after correcting. Sorry but couldn't get the first one to delete. ;-/
