There are a few modern designs I find interesting, very minimalistic with a fun or unusual design. However, I don't think they are much more than the old straight stitchers, less infact ( when it comes to sturdiness and capability at least). People have arrived at these results from either a user point of view aimed to simplify, or a
storage point of view. Some just
look cool. I like the wood and materials used in
this one, but I just don't see much of a room for making something like a simple straight stitcher when we still have plenty of the old ones around. (At least I rather clean one up for use once I discovered how capable they are and nice to sew on).
