Thanks for all of your great advice. I knew I could depend on you for a lot of ideas. I cut a small circle of steam a seam and using a very fine crochet hook I worked it in between the top and the batting and then I used my Clover mini iron to seal it into place. I then used fray check on the edges of the small slit and now I have to hunt to find the hole. I don't think I will have to do any embroidery but I will wait until the entire quilt is finished before I decide.
