They were ages 8 & 9 and sisters. In Russia, I guess you call your dad poppy. Well my daughter was the same age & became friends with them. They had to learn English and a lot of our customs. My cute daughter, after hanging around her new Russian friends started calling my husband, Poppy. He hated it. It's stuck though & poppy it is. He's 6'4 so a big guy.
