We did this once in a group of 12 people. The only problem was that there are always one or two people that do not match colors very well. I tried not to be too fussy but a couple of blocks were "Out there" if you know what I mean. Our group (of 10) is doing the shoebox quilt. Where you provide 2 yards focus fabric and (3) 1 yard coordinates. Put them in a box with your name on it and give it to a member of you group--- from there they make a block and pass it on.. When all the friends in your group have made a block it they will all come back to you for completion. This way you get all the colors you love- because you choose them.
