and i agree with tartan. i grew up in socal and my daddy told me about californias' drought cycles when i was a teen. xeroscaping would be my choice for the front yard. large river rock, and larger "boulders" in among low growing drought tolerant plants. i have way too much lawn where i am now, and tho it's getting
lots of water this year with melting snow and rain, i'll be digging up more & more every year. large green lawns are a look of the past ..very 50's looking IMHO &
