If you ever make it as far East and North as Maine, we have a fabulous amount of quilt shops. I am fortunate to have three within a 20 minute driving distance from my home. I love it that all three are completely different in terms of their fabric offerings...one has quilting cottons and flannels but is more geared around home design, pillows, drapes, upholstery, etc.
I don't think you could go wrong by popping your head into any one of Maine's 36 independently-owned quilt shops. Just "google" Quilt Shops of Maine. Have fun on your journey and be sure to keep us updated on your travels.
