Thanks for the comments. I do agree - there is something special/different about a hand quilted quilt.
I do know that my sister will appreciate this. Now my brother, my mom, and my sister all have quilts that I have made. The nephews wouldn't appreciate something now, so they'll have to wait their turn.
The background fabric was left over from another quilt and i had made about 5 yrs ago. It was actually a pistol to get things to blend w/ it and it took awhile. Part of me is sorry to be out of the fabric, but the goal was to use up stuff in my stash - and it did do that.
