My daughter picked Elizabeth Hartmann's Fancy Forest pattern as her choice for a baby quilt for her first baby due next month. They are keeping the baby's gender a secret, so needed to do it in gender neutral fabrics. I don't think I would ever have attempted this pattern had she not requested it, it was very time consuming with lots of tiny pieces. Somewhat of a struggle, but I am glad I finished it, and in time! I quilted it using my walking foot, in the wood grain pattern--another first for me but not too hard to do.
I had lots of fabric scraps left over, so made another baby quilt for her with the same fabrics, but in a simpler, more modern style. Much faster assembly!
