I think I have more rules than I previously thought. I always make a copy of the quilt pattern so I can write on it and it always stays right with the fabric. A book is a pain to carry around. I use the wastebasket constantly and the floor doesn't get too messy. I'm pretty good about keeping needles in a certain place as well as all threads. I always have a leader and ender project going since I read Marsha McCloskey's book, sometimes I have 2 or 3 simple quilts that are going at the same time. One serious rule is to avoid making blocks with more than 10-12 pieces in them, they are pretty, but I just don't like making them. My quilting room is messy with books and fabric all over the table and I love it all. I can produce a great number of lovely quilts that are rather simple each year.
