Hi Bilben,

I agree that choosing the right machine can be confusing. Janomes are great machines. I belong to several FB quilting groups, and quilters are very happy with them. Also, you're getting such a great deal.

I'd like to comment about the shop you contacted, where you were told that they had two Jukis in for repair, etc. It's almost the same remark that I got from my local shop when I was shopping around for my TL2010Q. That being said, this shop sells Brother and Pfaff, and they wanted to sell me a Brother or a Pfaff. They had nothing good to say about Juki.

I continued my researching, and found no mention of TL2010Q's requiring repairs or returns. I finally ordered my TL2010Q online. This was 3 years ago. No problems whatsoever. As this is a strictly mechanical straight-stitch machine, any competent sewing machine technician would be able to do any repair required. So far this hasn't been necessary. I clean and oil very assiduously.

I'm not saying that you should decide on the TL2010Q. Just mean to say that, in my opinion, local dealers or shops are not the most reliable people to give you an honest appreciation of this or that machine.

I was in Alaska a couple of summers ago, and found very charming fabric shops in Haines and in Skagway.

Happy quilting with the Janome!
