I do do a lot of these. I've gotten in the habit of cutting leftover fabrics into either 3 1/2" or 2 1/2" strips and color coordinate them the best I can. I also a lot of times put a applique on them to fancy them up some. I like your slant seams but aren't they a pain to have to cut off the tails? Great job.
I cut my leftover material into strips too. This didn't come close to putting a dent in my stash! The more to sew with, right? ;~P
