This is a great way to use up those scraps, and your quilt is gorgeous. If it were mine I would look at it after it was finished and try to find something I would change if I made it again. The one thing to change would be to keep the white strips away from the outside of the strip sets. You lost a few points with the white background. But it's still beautiful.
I agree, though, in real life rather than photos, the points are visible. Since this was cut from already constructed string blocks, my choices of placement for the cuts was limited.
