I've used mylar and also Angelica, its kind of like mylar, it has a sheen. You can buy it in sheets or what's called Angelica hair, which can be shaped and ironed. It really enhances anything you make. I digitized a picture frame and on one side it had a snowman so I used the white hair that has a pearl essence effect, so pretty and really looked like snow.
