Default Daughter and Son-in-law to be wedding quilt

This is not your usual wedding quilt. Daughter and SIL-to be adopted a pit bull that was mistreated and surrendered to an animal shelter because IT didn't behave well. Long story, but that summarizes it.

I was looking at patterns one day and saw one titled "Doggone Cute" from: https://sewfreshquilts.blogspot.com/p/dog-gone-cute.html

I foolishly showed it to my daughter and said "This one looks like Lacey." She agreed and quickly said,

"Mom, make us that quilt!"

Gulp. That was NOT my intention. I just thought the quilt was cute. But I made it. Sort of.

The face in the center (adapted from the pattern) took me soooo long because I enlarged the pattern manually, and that took a few tries to get right. The rest of the quilt was easy, but for some reason the easy part didn't want to be easy. We all make one of THOSE quilts sooner or later, right? The quilting went very well, though.

The quilt was designed by me using EQ7. Fabrics are from Connecting Thread - except the gold around the dogs face. I was going for an art deco look, and the look of a picture safely tucked into an old photo album. It's queen size.
