I love my kindle and read exclusively on it (except recipe and quilting books). Just recently discovered that a lot of James A Michener books are now available in e-reader format. Amazon has them. Hawaii and Centennial were two of my favorites. I remember reading most of these books from "way back in the day" way way before e-books. They are long epic stories that I think are good for long reading sessions.....ie recovering from something. The hardback and paperback copies are huge for reading in bed, so finding them in e-reader format is perfect.
Also have discovered in my "golden years" that although I read these books many years ago, I haven't retained the story line in my brain, so they are like brand new to me. Not sure if that is just me or what...but I digress. sorry
Good luck with your surgery and wishing you a speedy recovery.
