It isn't only fabrics that is sold by the yard. I've also noticed it with clothing. Women's knit tops are so thin you need to wear two so you can see through the shirts.
. I was just going to post the same thing. I went to buy my teenage granddaughter some t-shirts at a trendy boutique and couldn't believe how thin they were!
