Did it have a plastic or metal bobbin in it? I personally would use the metal, unless the machine came with plastic.
Your machine will take regular needles 15x1 or 130/705H as shown on
http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/5-Needles_c42.htm except for the 206x13 needles shown on the top of the page. Of course you would choose the point and size dependent on what you are sewing.
