It's taken me a bit but here are my machines in order of purchase date:
Necchi Sewing Machine Model 988
My father bought this in 1967. My first machine and it still runs like a champ. It, too, will sew heavy-weight fabrics such as nagahide.

Kenmore Model 385.16231300 **I found a most interesting in article about Kenmore sewing machines. Models beginning with the "385" are actually Janome machines  Which, now that I think about it, when in class last time I noticed the 'sound' of my machine was the same as the "Janomes"... just a bit of trivia ;) Purchased in 2005.

Singer 306W - It's an industrial strength sewing machine and let me tell you it's industrial in weight...eee-gads!
**
Singer 221-I Featherweight - 11/18/1949
When I bought this last year, I was thrilled because not only was the price right ($150) but the case was very clean, it had extra bobbins, came with buttonholer and other attachments, and a KEY!

Sorry the pictures are so big - I'll make them smaller next time :(
