We did the same thing when I was pregnant with my son and got lots and lots of green and yellow. I wish someone had given us something neutral. Babies grow to little kids so fast that nursery colors don't seem to fit for long. Just my 2 cents.
I'd go with neutrals shades of ivory, winter white, beige. I made a quilt for my sister who loves neutrals and it turned out great.
