Welcome from Southern California! My first quilt was hand sewn and quilted also, until I got to the binding. That was sewn on by machine and then hand sewn to the back. It was my plan to do it all by hand, then I read the Amish consider it okay to use a treadle machine and still be call made by hand. (I was given my great-great aunt's treadle so it worked out well for me.)
