I don't trim my quilt edge. I add the binding first, then trim. This way, I can place a pinor mark the quarter inch from the end. Also, when connecting the ends, I measure the open area and lay one end over it, cutting it 1.25 inches over the mark. I lay the other end over the space and cut it 1.25 inches beyond the mark. Then I join the ends sure has saved a lot of frustration.
