The specialist I was seeing said the test was very involved and included a skin biopsy for a certain type of gluten intolerance. Also he said I couldn't cut out gluten until a diagnosis was determine. No gluten in my body made the test results useless. If I'm lucky (my words) a blood test can determine Celiac Disease. After extensive testing no gluten intolerance was detected. He said I could be non-celiac gluten sensitive. It was up to me to have a gluten free diet or not. He said most gave it up after a period of time as it was very limiting and hard to follow if no medical reason to do so. Those with a medical reason cannot tolerate even a spoon that has been near wheat. Changed my mine about my gluten intolerance.
