I agree with bearisgray up to a point, but after so much time, even if they still make the fabric, the dye lot might make a difference. I once went around to 3 different stores trying to get the same forest green Kona cotton that I'd bought only months earlier, and each one was slightly different. Blues are harder to match than most other colors it seems to me.
Use the thrift sale list on this board to sell all the blues you bought (if you don't have other uses for them) and just keep looking. Even if you are seeing the exact one in a store, try to take it near a window because the natural light will show it differently than the store fluorescents. Take the top to the fabric store with you because you might have better luck seeing a good one that way than trying to match just the blue that's your first choice. It's beautiful and well worth going the extra distance.
