I agree with mmace71, it is Rose of Sharon...double. Very pretty. They grow as a bush, hedge, or tree.

The All Iowa Hop Shop starts tomorrow for the whole month of June. Ann Wheeler and Quilter 65 and I will go on the 7th because two of the shops pull out all stops on the seventh, (Wednesdays) and sell every bolt in their stores for $7.00 per yard. (Lucas and Humeston stores) Then again, we may drive to the shop the the longest distance from us and work our way back home. I need more thread to sew up all the fabric I have on hand. If we are lucky enough to get a second day, will probably go East and North to the Amana Colonies and their fabulous two shops.

That PC quilt is for DGS and has one of my drawings of a horse in the corner and an another one on the other side. It also has our two small girls on my Old Mare, SIL's Irish Thoroughbred Mare, DH Grandfather with his horses, my Brother's Pinto Mares, and our childhood Shetland mare with her colt, that was born 32 inches long and 17 inches tall. Memories from the past to pass on to DGS. The cowboys on the fence fabric came from Holton, KS, Quilting on the Square. Neat shop.

Starting on a throw quilt (48" x 62"), from the Quilted Windmill in Pella, Iowa. It is a Log Cabin pattern version done in blues. Nine dark and nine light 6 2/3 inch strips from selvage to selvage...plus 4 light and 4 dark pieces that are 11 inches long. I am going to see how much I cna get done before my Cousin Mary comes on the 11th of June...its for her...she is family!
