First of all, I would like to say that your quilt is going to be one gorgeous quilt when you finish!! Please share the finished quilt with us.
Are you having problems with the two points of the opposite stars coming together? I would mark the seam allowances at the points for reference marks, sew in the small blocks just as you did prior, sew in the bigger squares, and then rectangles, matching reference marks. Your quilt will look like swiss cheese for a while.
