Then I would lay one of the pinked squares on top of the straight edged ones and see how they lined up. I would "believe" the straight-edged ones and use them as my guide as to how I joined the pink ones.

I buy charm packs and other pre-cuts mostly for the variety of fabrics
in the same collection and I know they will all match (colourwise).
Anyway, since I starch all my fabrics before cutting, I know I will never
get a perfect 5" square after starching. I don't think I've had a charm
pack where they were all perfect 5" square even before starching.
You know those TV shows where they make everything looks sooo easy
using pre-cuts. It ain't that easy...it's just a show. LOL
