QNS it sounds like you had some real fun going to all those shops.
I am still dong a bit of hand sewing before quilting it on my machine.It's the quilt my brother in law wanted me to see if I could fix it. It was made for him many many years ago by his grandma who helped raise him with his dad. I had to take apart the top squares apart from all the rest of it. The batting inside was not good nor the backing. I will be adding new batting, and a new back that will look like the one his grandma had on it. I am doing my best, but I think he will like it when I am finished. I hope so.
