Good morning, Boomers! We're finally seeing the sun. Took my pups for a walk before it gets so humid it's like drinking the air and now it's time for a little Boom biz.
Sign-ups close in one week. Our groups remain at 10 for the 2 month and 19 for the 3 month. (I hope someone fills that final 20th spot!). In the event that we get no more in the 2 month group, everyone wishing to double up will be able to do so. If more sign-up, we'll figure it out.
Repeat boomers know all of what comes next but since we've got a nice group of new folks, I'm hitting details so forgive the repetition.
At this point, most of you are probably thinking about your fabrics. Once you choose, you can put Color Requests in with each piece. Some boomers do, some don't. You should be as clear and concise as possible. If you want WOW (white on white) Only , please make sure you say "only". If you want certain colors to Not be used, please be clear. Be aware that if you say you'd like "only brown" be used, you will likely get all shades of brown. Please don't expect everyone to have, or even interpret your idea of, brown the same way. Be lenient. Be clear but not strict. Also, it happens that people go their own way. I encourage everyone to abide by the Color Requests, but I'm making sure you all know that they are only requests. And final reminder, block requests are Not permitted. The choice of what block is made belongs to the maker. Sometimes, boomers will ask if another boomer would object to a certain block or a style of block out of courtesy, but it's not part of the rules. Since each of you has the option to pick colors for your fabric, you will each have the final say on every block you make. And no, you do not have to make color requests. Sometimes the most beautiful blocks and quilts are those made from many different colors.
Construction:
Block size is 12 1/2 inches. Please measure as you go so you can achieve as reasonably close to 12 1/2 as possible.
Seams, ALL seams, are 1/4 inch or a scant 1/4.
Stitch length is a minimum of 12 per inch, even if you are accustomed to fewer when sewing for yourself. For the purposes of this swap, 12 is a good minimum.
Neatness counts! Watch those thread nests on the back. Trim loose threads. Make sure your block is clean.
Thanks for taking your valuable time in reading all this.

. Have a great day!
