I really like Di Ford's quilts. I have not read any of her books so I don't know how extensive the directions are, sorry. Right now she has a mystery quilt going on in the magazine Quiltmania. Measurements are given in inches and centimeters. So far, out of 6 blocks 5 are applique using different techniques ...... reverse applique, needle turn and broderie perse ....... the last block is a combination of piecing and applique.
