The house that we rent is not energy efficient in any way, shape or form.
I do have a/c units in every room, but with the cost of electricity here, I TRY not to use them as much as possible. It's not really the cost of the electric, it's the Recovery Fuel Charge that they charge us. Whatever that is for. Your electric could be $100, but the FRC is $300, so electric bills are always at least $300-$400/month. I don't know how some people do it. We get a stipen from the military to help with utilities, so we are good on that.
